We have a baby

We thought the Black Faced Cuckoo Shrikes had a baby . . .
we have seen it being fed a few times. You might have to look really hard to see the chick ready to be fed.

A bit of sun

A bit of sun at last, we managed to have a bike ride this morning. The second spike of hippeastrum is flowering now.
Little Wattlebirds have taken over the bottlebrush
and the Grevillea

but the White Cheeked Honeyeaters are still around and dart in whenever they can or land on the Grevillea.

The rose is just about to flower, this was one of the buds this morning, the climbing rose does not have any buds at all :-(

Just a daisy photo I thought turned out OK

Action

A man enjoying his garden!

A white cheeked honeyeater on the clothes line.

The Rainbow Bee-eaters have been back for a while, we have noticed them on our back fence a few times or in the trees out the back.

I realised this morning that if I stand between the fence and trees in the back yard I can get a good view of the birds and not be seen too easily by them - I did not have the tripod with me this morning but will take it out tomorrow and hopefully will get some sharper photos so that I can crop in a bit closer.

The bee eaters make a tunnel in the ground for their nest, this bird was on the ground then suddenly disappeared - presumably into it's nest!

The butterflies like the bottlebrushes too.

A black faced cuckoo shrike has nested in a tree out the back, the bird is still sitting, we did see her looking into the nest a couple of days ago so not sure if the chicks have hatched yet, we have not seen any sign of them yet.

When N, F & R visited last weekend they brought some home made Chelsea Buns that F & R had made - they were delicious!! That gave me the idea to make some too, so I got the bread maker out today and made some and they are also delicious!

White cheeked honeyeaters

The bottlebrush is still very popular with the birds, the white cheeked honeyeaters were having gun in it this morning.

I am disappointed with the photos though, I just can't seem to get nice sharp photos when I use the zoom lens.
