Honeyeaters

It's raining here today and I'm bored so I got up on the ladder and took some photos through the laundry window.

Lorikeet & Kookaburra

We don't have Kookaburras here very often so to see this one on the back gate was a thrill.

I was able to get fairly close to this Lorikeet enjoying itself on a Grevillia

Pet

Think Richard has started something by feeding sausage to the Butcherbird.

Lorikeets bathing

Looked out the kitchen window and got a shock to see the Lorikeets bathing

$50 was well spent on the bird bath . . . it has given us (and the birds) a lot of enjoyment.

The following are Rondeletia Amoena
Once a common garden plant, Rondeletia amoena is rarely seen nowadays. This is a pity, because this hardy, Central American native produces a wonderful display of salmon-pink flowers every spring.

Butcherbirds

Two Butcherbirds came in under the patio today, this one was really quiet.

This other one was flying around and making lovely music.
