Lilly Pilly

I could see red fruit on the lilly pillys over the back fence, having heard of Lilly Pilly Jam but never having tasted it I went searching for a recipe, there are a few on the internet but I also found one in a book I have. Anyway I found a good blog http://thrumykitchenwindow.blogspot.com/2009/05/lilly-pilly-jelly.html which has instructions and photos showing how to make it.

So I went out and picked some lilly pilly fruit this afternoon


and left it simmering on the stove.



Unfortunately I forgot about the fruit simmering and it was not until I could smell burning that I remembered :-(


OH well I will try again tomorrow.

We REALLY don't believe it!

R looked up and saw a kangaroo at our rear gate, he quickly grabbed a camera and got a few photos of it.

When I said in my last post that I expect to see a kangaroo hopping past any day now I thought there was no chance of that happening at all.

We don't believe it !!

We were sitting out the back this morning and our eyes nearly popped out of our heads when we saw this . . .

Yes an emu was walking past the back gate. We expect to see a kangaroo hopping past any day now :-)

Desk

R made a built in desk in the rear bedroom, it's great, plenty of room, he will probably build some shelves for the wall above it.

Sunset

The sunsets have been lovely this past week, maybe something to with the smoke from burning off in the area.

Roof and flowers

When we pruned a bottlebrush tree we found this bush orchid growing in it.

R finished painting the front of the roof.

I bought three Gerbera plants this morning. This is the flower of one of them.
