tawny & rainbow

I went for an early morning walk with the camera to try to take a photo of the Tawny Frogmouth nesting in the park, we had seen the mother and two chicks sitting on the side of the nest yesterday but did not have the camera with us.

Today the bird was back in its nest so not easy to see, the photo is of the male in a nearby branch. On the way home the Rainbow Bee-Eaters were about.

Proud parents

We finally saw the parents together near the nest, we usually see one flying away as the other approaches.

We have a baby

We thought the Black Faced Cuckoo Shrikes had a baby . . .
we have seen it being fed a few times. You might have to look really hard to see the chick ready to be fed.

A bit of sun

A bit of sun at last, we managed to have a bike ride this morning. The second spike of hippeastrum is flowering now.
Little Wattlebirds have taken over the bottlebrush
and the Grevillea

but the White Cheeked Honeyeaters are still around and dart in whenever they can or land on the Grevillea.

The rose is just about to flower, this was one of the buds this morning, the climbing rose does not have any buds at all :-(

Just a daisy photo I thought turned out OK
