Magpies

R has been befriending some magpies and gives them a little tidbit to make them come to the back of the house but only if they sing for him first!

This young magpie is quite bold and comes right in near the back of the house.



The older magpies also come in, this one seems particularly big and wanders around the yard at times. The magpie does have two legs it just has one tucked up in this shot.

Sunday

A different view of one of our resident lizards.


One of our new plants Grevillea Flamingo has some flowers on it already.


Richard has been pressure washing the roof for several hours.


Richard is going to paint the roof charcoal, should be an improvement on the dirty white, the original colour of the tiles is red.

Wild Horse Mt Lookout

Today we went for a drive to Wild Horse Mt Lookout. The carpark is 700 metres from the lookout, there is an extremely steep path up to the lookout.


The views are 360 degrees overlooking the Glasshouse Mountains, Bribie Island out to Moreton Island, down to Redcliffe and up to Caloundra.

Today

I have not done any more amigurumi crochet this week.

Today we bought the floor tiles for the bathroom/toilet and laundry, they are the same as for the rest of the house only that they are smaller.

These are the tiles in the kitchen area.

We have a magpie visiting us sometimes now, it comes right in under the entertainment area roof, here it is having its breakfast!!

Amigurumi

I started crocheting an amigurumi lion yesterday, thanks to M for telling me about amigurumi crochet and letting me use some of her instructions.






This is the face with the orange mane around the edges. I have to embroider eyes, nose and mouth.

Blinds

M & G gave us some venetian blinds that they no longer need. R put them up today and we are very pleased with them, they look really good. The old vertical blind is still in place in this photo but will be taken down tomorrow.


R surprised me, when I got home he said he was in charge of making our dinner, he saw a recipe for Ham and Asparagus Risotto in the paper this morning and made it for us, it was so delicious.

Another Friday

Oh dear, another week and another month have flown by!

The tiler finished and came back today to measure the bathroom, toilet and laundry, we thought we might carry the floor tiles through into those rooms but the tiler says we need a smaller tile in the shower recess so that there can be a slope to the drain. I think we will look for something similar to the rest of the house just in the smaller size.



The other option is to have the shower recess floor different to the rest of the bathroom, but I think that would look a bit odd unless we could get the same tile in the smaller size.

I was not sure about the feature tiles on the kitchen walls, but now that they have been grouted they don't look as bad.
